Terms of use
Updated: 6 September 2026
Shanoba (shanoba.com) is a service for group greeting cards online: you create a card, share the link, and friends and colleagues add their wishes with photos. There is no registration and no accounts. The service is run by Maksym Rudchuk, Ukraine — abuse@shanoba.com. By using the service you accept these terms.
Who can use it
Shanoba is meant for adults. If you are under 16, use it only with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. Do not make a card about someone who has asked you not to, and do not add a photo of a person you would be uncomfortable showing it to.
Who is responsible for what
- The card's creator is responsible for the data they put into the card — in particular for the name of the person the card is dedicated to, and for having the right to share it.
- The author of a wish is responsible for their text and photos. Only add photos you have the right to share: everyone with the link to the card will see them.
- We provide the platform and respond to reports, but we do not review the content of cards in advance.
What is not allowed
- other people's photos and personal data without the right to share them;
- insults, harassment, threats;
- illegal content in any form;
- spam, fraud, advertising;
- passing yourself off as someone else in a wish;
- attempts to break the service, bypass its limits, gain access to other people's cards, or collect cards and photos automatically.
If any of this happens, we may hide or delete the card and stop accepting requests from the source of the abuse.
Your content stays yours
The wishes and photos you add remain yours. By adding them you give us only what running the service requires: permission to store them and show them to everyone who has the link, for as long as the card lives. Nothing beyond that — we do not sell content, do not place advertising on it, and do not use it to train anything.
Reports and moderation
Every card has a "Report" button, and abuse@shanoba.com reaches us just as well. Reports are read by a person, not a filter. Following a report we may hide a card or delete it permanently, and we tend to err on the safe side — the card goes out of sight first, and the review happens after.
We have no way of contacting you about it: the service stores no email addresses and no accounts. So if a card of yours has disappeared and you believe that was a mistake, write to us — we will explain what happened and restore the card if we got it wrong. A hidden card that nobody contests is deleted permanently after 30 days.
Keeping the service running
We limit how often one address may write to the service and may refuse requests that look automated. We may change how the service works, and we may shut it down altogether — in which case the cards go with it. Save what matters to you (the photos, a screenshot of the page) rather than treating a card as an archive.
No warranties
The service is free and provided "as is". A card is kept for three months after its occasion and is deleted after that — see the privacy policy; we guarantee neither uninterrupted operation nor storage beyond that period. GIFs are shown from a third-party provider's catalogue and may disappear independently of us. The card's creator can delete it at any time — together with all the wishes.
Liability
Because the service is free, our liability is limited to what the law permits us to limit: we are not answerable for content lost, for an occasion missed because the service was unavailable, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms — the date of the current version is at the top of the page, and anything substantial will be described here in plain words. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new version; if you do not, delete your card and stop using the service.
Governing law
The service is governed by the law of Ukraine. If you live in the EU or the EEA, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of your own country's consumer law, nor of the right to go to the courts there. Questions about these terms — abuse@shanoba.com.
